Weekly Message from the Pastor - Feb. 2, 2018

February 2, 2018

Dear Friends,

This Sunday, we wrap up the series, “Unknown Territory,” where we’ve reflected on God’s presence as we journey through the unknown territory of a new year. We not only reflect on God’s presence, but also how, as people of faith, we might respond.

As much as we try to put in place contingencies for “what might happen” on our journeys through life, there are circumstances that arise beyond our control – a sudden illness, a job in jeopardy, the death of a loved one. Our carefully-laid plans go awry and life seems uncertain, confusing, even scary. From where can we find help?

This Sunday we will talk about Paul and Silas and the challenge they faced during one of their missionary stops. Their response is powerful and gives us comfort that no matter what challenges we face, we are not alone.

I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday. With the deep cold, people are less likely to venture out. It can mean they feel more isolated. Perhaps you might invite a neighbor, friend, or acquaintance to join you in worship and to enjoy fellowship here at Buckhall UMC.

Yours in Christ,

Linda
