Weekly Message from the Pastor - Feb. 16, 2018

February 16, 2018

Dear Friends,

As we have entered in the season of Lent, I hope that you are able to find ways to sense God’s presence and discern the ways God is moving in your heart and life. This Sunday we begin a new series, “A Journey to Freedom.” The premise is that our relationship with God gives us the spiritual strength to exercise our freedom to respond to God’s call, to speak the truth, to take a risk, to shape our lives in ways that reflect our relationship with Jesus Christ.

This Sunday we will meet two courageous women who stood up to the most powerful person in Egypt, and in doing so were able to save lives. Through that freedom they found by trusting in God, they became instruments of God’s saving actions.   How is our relationship with God being strengthened, so that we are open to being used by God for God’s purposes?

I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday. During the season of Lent we will celebrate Holy Communion each week. Participating in this sacrament is a way that we experience one of the means of grace.

Lent is a season where people, who do not have a church home, may be more inclined to experience church. Is there someone in your circle of acquaintances that you could invite to join you in worship?

Yours in Christ,
