Weekly Message from the Pastor - July 28, 2018

July 28, 2018

Dear Friends,

This week was full of joy and energy as we welcomed 26 children to Vacation Bible School. They learned about being Superheroes for God and the attributes of a Superhero. We saw lots of superheroes during the week through VBS teachers, teen helpers, craft and science leaders, our chefs, techno man, other helpers, and people who share their stories as superheroes – a nurse, a teacher, a police officer from the canine unit, and others. Our thanks to the people who gave of their time and for you, superheroes, who supported VBS through your donations, your help, and your prayers. Thank you for your generosity.

This Sunday we begin a series that builds on what we learned this past week. During the next several Sunday’s we will look at the people who said, “YES” to God’s call. What did they offer to God and what might we offer to God? This Sunday we will talk about how God looks in our hearts in inviting us to join in God’s work. Superheroes are known for their super powers. We’ll also talk about what super power we can tap into as we respond to God’s call.

Please look around the people near to you; friends, relatives, acquaintances, and neighbors. Is there someone who is going through a difficult time? How might you help them? How can we pray for them and help them? Offer to have them join you in worship and have them ride with you. I look forward to worshiping with you.

Yours in Christ,

Linda

PS – Many thanks to Brian Maceyak and Joe Hepler for providing the messages the past two Sundays. I know you were blessed and I am grateful for the sabbath rest. Thank you.
